1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how FurryDB ("we," "us," or "the Bot") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our Discord bot. By using FurryDB, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Ban Records (From Whitelisted Servers Only)
When a user is banned in a whitelisted Discord server where FurryDB is present, we automatically collect:
- User ID: The unique Discord ID of the banned user
- Username: The Discord username and tag at the time of ban
- Server ID: The unique ID of the server where the ban occurred
- Server Name: The name of the server where the ban occurred
- Ban Reason: The reason provided for the ban (if any)
- Timestamp: When the ban occurred
- Moderator Information: The username of the moderator who performed the ban (obtained from Discord audit logs)
2.2 Server Configuration Data
For servers using FurryDB, we store:
- Server ID: The unique Discord server ID
- Auto-ban Settings: Whether auto-ban is enabled and the threshold value
- Auto-log Settings: Whether auto-log is enabled and the designated log channel ID
2.3 Whitelist Data
For whitelisted servers, we store:
- Server ID and Name: Identifying information for whitelisted servers
- Whitelist Date: When the server was added to the whitelist
- Added By: Who approved the whitelist application (optional)
2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Message content or chat logs
- Voice chat data
- Email addresses or personal contact information
- IP addresses
- Payment or financial information
- Location data
- Bans from non-whitelisted servers
3. How We Use Information
3.1 Primary Purposes
We use the collected information to:
- Provide Ban History: Display ban records when server administrators use the
/userinfo command
- Enable Auto-Ban: Automatically ban users joining servers based on their ban history and configured thresholds
- Enable Auto-Log: Send notifications to designated channels when users with ban history join
- Maintain Database: Store and organize ban records for cross-server tracking
3.2 Secondary Purposes
We may also use aggregated, anonymized data to:
- Generate public statistics (total bans, active servers, etc.)
- Improve bot functionality and features
- Identify and fix technical issues
- Monitor for abuse or misuse of the service
4. How We Share Information
4.1 With Other Servers Using the Bot
Ban information is shared when:
- A server administrator uses the
/userinfo command to look up a user's ban history
- A user with ban history joins a server that has auto-log enabled
- A user with sufficient bans joins a server with auto-ban enabled (the ban reason will reference their ban count)
4.2 Public Statistics
We may display aggregated, non-identifying statistics publicly, such as:
- Total number of servers using the bot
- Total number of bans tracked
- Number of whitelisted servers
Individual user information is never included in public statistics.
4.3 When Required by Law
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal processes, such as:
- Subpoenas or court orders
- Law enforcement requests
- Protection of our legal rights
- Prevention of fraud or illegal activity
4.4 We Do NOT Sell Data
We do not and will never sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Data Retention
5.1 Ban Records
Ban records are retained indefinitely in our database unless:
- A server administrator removes them using the
/removeban command (only removes records from their own server)
- We determine the record violates our Terms of Service
- The Bot service is discontinued
5.2 Server Configuration
Server configuration data is retained as long as the bot remains in the server. When the bot is removed, configuration data may be retained for up to 30 days before automatic deletion.
5.3 Data Deletion Requests

6. Data Storage and Security
6.1 Where We Store Data
All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway.app's infrastructure. Railway implements industry-standard security measures to protect data.
6.2 Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted database connections (SSL/TLS)
- Access controls and authentication
- Regular security updates
- Monitoring for unauthorized access
6.3 No Absolute Security
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Server Administrators
As a server administrator, you can:
- Remove the Bot: Stop data collection by removing FurryDB from your server
- Delete Ban Records: Use
/removeban to remove ban records from your server
- Configure Features: Control auto-ban and auto-log settings
- View Settings: Use
/config view to see your current configuration
7.2 Individual Users
If you have been banned and want to:
- Request Record Removal: Contact the server administrators who banned you
- Dispute a Ban: Appeal directly to the server that issued the ban

8. Children's Privacy
FurryDB is intended for use by Discord users who meet Discord's minimum age requirements (13 years or older, or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children under the applicable minimum age.
If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under the minimum age, we will take steps to delete such information.
9. International Data Transfers
FurryDB operates globally and may process data in different countries. By using the Bot, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your residence, which may have different data protection laws.
10. Third-Party Services
10.1 Discord
FurryDB operates on Discord's platform and is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy. We receive data from Discord's API in accordance with their policies.
10.2 Railway.app
Our database is hosted on Railway.app. Railway's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.
10.3 Not Responsible for Third Parties
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of Discord, Railway, or any other third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised
- Significant changes may be announced in our Discord server
- Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
12. Whitelist System and Privacy
Important notes about the whitelist system:
- Only whitelisted servers can contribute bans to the shared database
- Bans from non-whitelisted servers are NOT recorded or shared
- Non-whitelisted server owners will receive a DM notification when a ban occurs
- Whitelist status is managed manually by FurryDB administrators
